[Men's Basketball] SXU Edged by IUSB, 67-65, in CCAC Tournament Championship

CHICAGO – Senior forward Jack Halverson (Peotone, Ill./Peotone) led all scorers with 24 points on 10-for-18 shooting, however No. 2 seed Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (24-7, 16-4 CCAC) lost to No. 4 Indiana University South Bend 67-65 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament Championship Saturday afternoon at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. The Cougars had a chance to win the game with .09 seconds left on the shot clock after a jump ball was called and a timeout was called. The game-winning shot attempt was blocked to allow the Titans to hang on for the victory and to secure an automatic berth into the 64-team NAIA Men's Basketball Opening Round Tournament that begins on March 7.
