[Men's Basketball] Spriggs named CCAC Player of the Week

CHICAGO — A career-high scoring effort and leading his team to a pair of victories during the seven-day period ending Jan. 9 has earned St. Ambrose University's Will Spriggs (Jacksonville, Fla.) Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week recognition, it was announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.Spriggs put up a personal-best 29 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the field with a pair of three-pointers in an 86-78 victory over Governors State University last Wednesday. He also dished out six assists, grabbed three rebounds and blocked one shot in the contest.Three days later, the sophomore guard totaled 14 points, six rebounds and three assists in a 73-68 decision over Lincoln College.For the two games combined, Spriggs averaged 21.5 points per game, while shooting 61.5 percent from the field. He also averaged 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per contest.St. Ambrose's two wins on the week improved the Bees' overall record to 6-10 and their league mark to 5-6.
