[Men's Basketball] Saint Xavier Drops CCAC Contest to Holy Cross, 93-92

CHICAGO – The Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (14-4, 8-2 CCAC) lost to Holy Cross College (Ind.), 93-92, in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play Saturday afternoon at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. after the Saint made a jump-shot with :06 left in regulation. The Cougars had a chance to tie or take the lead after a foul by HCC with :04 remaining, however the 'one-and-one' attempt hit the back iron and the three-point shot at the buzzer fell short to snap SXU's nine-game win streak. Junior forward Kevin Bishop (Cleveland, Ohio/Pikeville/Parkland/Sinclair/Benedictine) led Saint Xavier with 20 points on 8-for-10 shooting and had a season-high four assists, along with three rebounds. It was his fifth game of the season with 20 or more points and improves his team-leading shooting percentage to 61.7 percent (119-for-193).
