[Men's Basketball] Records Broken As Redhawks Down Eagles

The Benedictine Mesa men's basketball program capped off the regular season with a 76-68 win over Embry-Riddle. The win puts the Redhawks 11-15 overall, 7-5 in Cal Pac Conference play. Senior Bryce Cheney led the charge for the Redhawks, finishing with 27 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Senior Jay Small had 14 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds. Senior Maurice Walton ended with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman Tanner Crawford broke the single season blocks record with his 34th block this season. The record was previously held by Carter Aby, who had 33 blocks in the 2017-18 season. Crawford also broke the record for most blocks in a single game this season, with 6 blocks against the University of Saint Katherine on February 4. The Redhawks shot 44.3% from the field, with 20 assists on 31 field goals. They outrebounded the Eagles 55-38 and held the Eagles to just 35.7% from the field, 23.1% from 3-point range.  The Redhawks will begin their postseason run on Sunday, February 27 in the first round of the California Pacific Conference Tournament. The tournament will be held at the University of Antelope Valley in Lancaster, California from February 27-March 1.
