CHICAGO – Senior small forward Josh Niego (Chicago, Ill./Lewis/Brother Rice) scored 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including going 3-for-6 from beyond the arc and junior point guard Joshua Evans (Dolton, Ill./Dubuque/Crete-Monee) came off the bench and tallied 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead No. 4 seed Saint Xavier University men's basketball (9-8, 8-4 CCAC) to a 71-62 victory over No. 13 seed Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.) Tuesday evening in the first round of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament at the Shannon Center in Chicago. Evans provided a spark for the Cougars, making his first appearance since December 2.
