[Men's Basketball] Kerr earns second CCAC Player of the Week honor

CHICAGO — John Kerr's (Lake Villa, Ill.) high-scoring act as of late has earned the St. Ambrose University senior forward Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the second time this season, it was announced by the league office Tuesday morning.Kerr delivered 28 and 24 points in a pair of conference wins during the seven-day period ending Feb. 21 to give him 20-or-more points in five of his last six games. He also averaged a double-double over the two games with his 26.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per contest, while shooting .600 from the field (18-of-30) and .857 at the foul line (12-of-14).In an 86-76 win over Roosevelt University on Wednesday, Kerr just missed out on a double-double with his 28 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the floor with nine rebounds. Three days later, however, he hit the mark with 24 points and 13 boards in a 66-48 win against Governors State University.With the 52 points on the week, Kerr moved into eighth place all-time on SAU's scoring list with 1,669 points.St. Ambrose finished the regular season at 14-5, which slotted the Fighting Bees as the No. 3 seed in this week's CCAC Tournament.
