[Men's Basketball] Halverson Leads Cougars to 83-73 Win over CCSJ

Whiting, Ind. – A game after scoring a season-high 25 points, senior forward Jack Halverson (Peotone, Ill./Peotone) responded with a 22-point performance on 9-for-14 shooting with a career-high five steals, two blocks, two rebounds and an assist to help lead the Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (20-5, 14-3 CCAC) to an 83-73 road victory over Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) matchup Saturday afternoon in Whiting, Ind. The win gives SXU 20 for the season, their first since the 2019-20 season when they finished 20-11 in the 23rd and final season for Saint Xavier Hall-of-Fame head coach Tom O'Malley. For current head coach Robert Ford, it is his first 20-win season in four seasons as a head coach, two with the Cougars and two a NCAA Division-II Salem University (W.V.) from 2019-21.
