[Men's Basketball] Evans Reaches Milestone; SXU defeats GSU, 89-84

CHICAGO – Senior guard Joshua Evans (Dolton, Ill./Dubuque/Crete-Monee) scored a game-high 30 points on 10-for-14 shooting and became the 44th player in program history to score 1,000 or more career points to lead the Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (12-10, 9-5 CCAC) to an 89-84 victory over Governors State University (Ill.) Monday evening at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play. Evans also posted five rebounds, three assists and a blocked shot. The Cougars shot a season-best 65.3 percent (32-for-49) from the field. It's the best shooting mark by SXU since February 22, 2012 when they shot 67.2 percent (43-for-64) at University of St. Francis (Ill.).
