[Men's Basketball] Babikir Drops 25; SXU Advances to CCAC Title Game after 72-59 Win

CHICAGO – Senior guard TJ Babikir (Kansas City, Mo./Hastings/North Central Missouri/Lincoln/North Kansas City) scored a season-high 25 points on 9-for-14 shooting, grabbed a season-best seven rebounds and had four steals and two assists to help guide the No. 2 seed Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (24-6, 16-4 CCAC) to a 72-59 victory over No. 6 Indiana University Northwest in the semifinals of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament Thursday evening at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. It's the first time that SXU has advanced to the CCAC Championship since the 2013-14 season. In that game the Cougars defeated the No. 1 team in NAIA Division II, Cardinal Stritch University, in Milwaukee, Wis. by a score of 85-74. It will also be the first time that Saint Xavier has hosted the CCAC Men's Basketball Tournament Championship in their 10 previous appearances.
