[Men's Basketball] MidAmerica Nazarene Overpowers #13 USAO in Kansas

OLATHE, Kan. – Friday night, the No. 13 ranked University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (2-2, 0-0 SAC) suffered a tough 94-87 loss on the road at MidAmerica Nazarene University (4-1, 0-0 HAAC). The Drovers struggled early on and trailed 11-0 prior to finally scoring their first bucket. Midway through the half, the Pioneers held a 23-12 lead, and MidAmerica went on to take a 49-34 lead into halftime.Following the break, the Drovers opened the second half on a 5-0 run, but still trailed 73-61 midway through the half. USAO cut the deficit to single digits with 9:30 remaining in regulation and MNU held an 86-78 lead with 4:00 remaining. Despite their best efforts, the Drovers were unable to cut into the deficit over the final minutes. The Drovers shot 31-71 (.437) from the field, and 16-39 (.410) from three-point range. In comparison, the Pioneers shot 35-58 (.603) from the field, and 8-19 (.421) from deep. MNU held a 40-32 advantage in the rebounding battle.Gerard Makuntae (SR/Austell, GA) and Cade Allen (SO/Hammon, OK) each delivered 20-point performances in the loss. Makuntae added seven rebounds, four assists, and a pair of steals. In 28 minutes off the bench, Allen shot 8-15 from the field and knocked down four three-pointers.Cejay Mann (SO/Alma, AR) also delivered a spark off the bench, recording 17 points on 6-8 shooting from the field, including 5-7 from deep. Mann also dished out four assists and had a pair of steals on defense.Langston Gaither (SR/Alexander, VA) closed with 16 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Jaden Harrell (SO/Oklahoma City, OK) concluded with five points, two rebounds, and four assists, while Tyler Cauley (SO/Riverview, FL) added five points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Logan Dolan (SO/Broken Arrow, OK) followed with four points and a pair of assists, in nine minutes off the bench. WHAT'S NEXT?The Drovers will return home for another non-conference matchup against Evangel University for Pack the Fieldhouse Night. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM inside Drover Fieldhouse. The event is being hosted in association with the Chickasha Chamber of Commerce, as well as the athletic department's Cornerstone Community Partners Chicken Express and Standley Systems.Chamber of Commerce employees, as well as their family members, will get in for free!
