[Men's Basketball] #10 Drovers Continue to Score in Bunches Against OPSU

CHICKASHA, Okla.  – Thursday night, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (22-4, 17-2 SAC) extended their win-streak to a half-dozen, with an exciting 107-90 victory against Oklahoma Panhandle State University (10-14, 7-12 SAC). The win marks the ninth time this season that the Drovers have scored at least 90 points in a game, and the third time that they have tallied over 100 points.The Drovers have now won 14 of their last 15 games, and with the victory, the Drovers maintain their lead in at the top of the Sooner Athletic Conference standings. Science & Arts currently holds a 2.0 game lead over SAGU heading into the final three games of the regular season, all of which will be at home on Brisco McPherson Court.The Drovers opened the game on a 13-0 run and they maintained the lead until the final buzzer. Science & Arts led by as many as 15 in the first half and managed to take a 55-41 into halftime. Following the break, the Aggies tried to gain momentum, but it was quickly thwarted away by the Drovers each time. Science & Arts outscored OPSU by a narrow margin of 52-49 in the second half. As a team, the Drovers shot over 50 percent from the field for the third consecutive game. Against OPSU, Science & Arts shot 40-73 (.548) from the field, and a scorching 12-24 (.500) from beyond the arc. Another key to success for the Drovers was their toughness in the paint, outrebounding the Aggies 48-38, and outscoring OPSU in the paint by a margin of 54-48. The depth of the Drovers was on full display once again, with six different players scoring in double figures. Cameron Hines (SR/Ft. Cobb, OK) led the way, scoring 29 points on 11-21 shooting from the field, as well as an incredible 6-11 from three-point range. Hines also contributed four assists, and three steals. In his historic career, Hines has scored 1,646 points, which ranks second in program-history behind Michael Williamson's 1,836 points.Stephon Hall (SR/Oklahoma City, OK) also made it clear why he is one of the best offensive players in program-history, producing 15 points, five rebounds, and a trio of assists. In the program record book, Hall ranks seventh in points (1,417), and he owns the program-record with 386 assists in his career.Rory Pantophlet (JR/Philipsburg, Sint Maarten) and Gerard Makuntae (SR/Austell, GA) were a dominant duo in the paint. Rory Pantophlet contributed 15 points on 5-7 shooting, and he also hauled in eight rebounds. Makuntae delivered one of the best performances of his career, nearly recording a triple-double. The Georgia native finished with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists. Elvin Rodriguez (SR/New York, NY) and Jaden Causwell (JR/Johns Creek, GA) each scored 11 points, providing a huge spark off the bench. Logan Dolan (FR/Broken Arrow, OK) went 2-3 from beyond the arc and finished with six points in 15 minutes of action. Tre'veon Ellis (SR/Oklahoma City, OK), Cade Allen (FR/Hammon, OK), and Rudy Pittman (FR/Tulsa, OK) each contributed two points in the win.  WHAT'S NEXT?Science & Arts aims to extend their win-streak to seven games as they host Wayland Baptist University on Saturday, February 12.
