Ainsworth earns first career WHAC Player of the Week award

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – For the first time in his career, junior center Cory Ainsworth has earned the WHAC Player of the Week honor after a career high 30 points in a double-double performance in a two overtime loss at (7) Grace College of Indiana. After starting the year battling injury, the 2020-21 concensus First Team All-WHAC center has been dominant of late, recording three double-doubles in his last seven games. This week, Ainsworth shot 66.4% from the field to improve his team best season average to 60.4%. Prior to the Grace College game, Ainsworth led the team with 19 points to go along with seven boards at Grace Christian where CU saw 3 of 14 players score. On the year, Ainsworth is second on the team with 15.3 PPG, 6.6 RPG, and 1.3 BPG.
