#2 Griffins Visit #1 Saints for League Crown; AEC Men’s Basketball Championship Preview

Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – (2/23/2024) – A thrilling 86-76 semifinal victory over #3 Marywood University (Feb. 21) earned the Griffins their first trip to the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men's Basketball Championship for the first time since the 2019-2020 season. As a result, the Red and Gold will travel to Arlington, Virginia, on Saturday, February 24, for a 4:00 p.m. title tip-off versus top-seeded Marymount University. Gwynedd Mercy University won the inaugural AEC Championship in 2018-2019, when they took down Wesley College (W, 101-84 on Feb. 21) and the Saints (W, 75-69) to raise their fifth conference banner under Head Coach John Baron.
