Wildcat men face St. Cloud State Thursday night in NSIC Sanford Health Tournament opener

Wayne State enters the NSIC Sanford Health Men's Basketball Tournament as the South Division #1 seed and faces North Division #4 seed St. Cloud State Thursday evening at 7 p.m. in the first round at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  The Wildcats were 10-6 overall and 10-4 in the NSIC South Division this season while SCSU is 8-8 overall and 6-6 in the NSIC North Division.  The two teams did not face each other this season.  Last year, the Huskies beat the Wildcats in St. Cloud 90-68 and leads the all-time series vs. WSC 24-4.  Two years ago (2018-19), WSC edged SCSU 77-76 in the quarterfinals of the NSIC Tournament at the Pentagon while falling to the Huskies in the regular season in Wayne 91-79.
