[Volleyball] Tigers battle hard against Phoenix

Georgetown College volleyball scrapped Thursday against Cumberland University. The Tigers (6-14, 2-7) gave the Phoenix (19-5, 6-3) all they could handle each set, but came up just short in a 22-25, 25-23, 18-25, 15-25.A late first set push erased several chances for CU to win on a huge rally itself and had GC on a tear in set two. The Tigers looking like their early season self, cruised out to a 7-1 lead. Cumberland showed why it has taken the top two Mid-South Conference teams to five-set matches by climbing back in the set a handful of points at a time. However, at every point, Georgetown responded with a kill, block or dig at the right moment to keep the lead and level the match.
