Thomas Receiving Votes in National Poll

THOMASVILLE, Ga.- The Thomas University Men's Basketball team is among those receiving votes in the NAIA Men's Basketball Top-25 Coaches' Poll.
 

After a 10-2 start to the season and very forceful 5-0 record to open SUN Conference play, the world has taken notice of the Night Hawks.
 

This is the first time in program history that Thomas has been one in the National Coaches' Poll.
 

Head Coach, Colin Cotter has shown to be a force to reckon with as a first time Head Coach with leading the Green and White to its best start in program history. 
 

TU has been on a very hot start with a winning streak of nine, which marks the longest win streak in program history. Additionally, Thomas continues to make history with the longest conference win streak in program history also. 
 

Thomas currently sits in the driver seat in the SUN Conference standings after defeating previously ranked (RV) St.Thomas University and Keiser University earlier in the season. 
 

The 79-74 win against St.Thomas University on December 3rd,  marked  the first time in four years that the Green and White picked up a win against the Bobcats'. 
 

It has been a team effort on the court to get to where they are now. Several Night Hawks have been floor generals for the Green and White averaging double digit numbers. 
 

Senior Mohammed Abubkar leads the team in averaged points with 14.0 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game. The Center boasted a season high in points (23) and rebounds (13) against Florida Memorial University on December 1st.
 

Senior Tim Williamson has shown leadership on the floor, averaging 13.3 points per game. Williamson notched a season high in points (23) against, shooting 66.6% from the field against Southeastern University on November 19th
 

Sophomore Jarvis Brown has shown to be a scoring machine, averaging 10.9 points per game. The Detroit,MI native had his best game earlier this year against Dalton State, boasting 20 points while shooting 58.33% from the field. 
 

Senior Jordan Booker has been able to create several fast break opportunities for the Night Hawks. The Powder Spring, Ga native currently sits second in the conference for steals, averaging 1.6 per game.
 

The Night Hawks will look to expand their win streak at the Embry-Riddle Classic this upcoming week. 
 

Thomas will start off the tournament with a contest against Embry-Riddle. Tipoff time is set for 7:30pm on Friday.
