[Softball] Errors hurt Tigers against Grizzlies

Georgetown College softball started NAIA National Championship Opening Round play against one of the best in the country. As the four seed in the Lawrenceville, Ga. bracket, the Tigers (27-21) faced off with the top seeded, No. 8 Georgia Gwinnett College Grizzlies. GGC is 24-4 at home.Despite hanging in early, three errors proved costly in a 5-1 setback. Georgetown falls into the consolation bracket where the team must win two tomorrow to advance to Wednesday's championship finals. The Tigers plays University of Rio Grande 2:30 pm Tuesday. The RedStorm lost 4-0 to Milligan University it their opening game Monday.GGC scored early after a lead off single came around with smart base running and one timely hit. A two-out single by Sydney Pelaez plated Lea McFadden for the first run of the game. Georgetown went three up, three down in its first three at-bats.
