Simmons secures double-double in Fayetteville State's 76-63 loss to Shaw
RALEIGH, NC –Caleb Simmons notched a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, but the Fayetteville State men's basketball team fell to the Shaw Bears 76-63 on the road Tuesday.
In addition to Simmons' impressive output, the Broncos (13-10, 8-5) were led by Tairell Fletcher, who had 18 points and six rebounds, and by Khalil Ridges, who added five points and two steals.
The Bears (11-10, 7-6) leading scorer, DJ Thomas, contributed 13 points.
Led by Simmons' seven offensive rebounds, Fayetteville State did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 16 boards that resulted in 18 second chance points.
