Privateers Edged By Alvernia In ECAC Semifinals

On Sunday afternoon, the Maritime College men's basketball team played the first home postseason contest in program history.  The second-seeded Privateers, who received a first-round bye, took on third-seeded Alvernia in the semifinals of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship at Riesenberg Gymnasium.  It was a one-point game at halftime before Alvernia pulled away in the second half, as the Golden Wolves (18-10) advanced to the ECAC Championship Game with a 72-62 victory over Maritime (14-13).
