Penn College Men Lose at Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, Pa. — Penn College's men's basketball team fell behind Lancaster Bible College by 39 points at the half in United East action on Monday and lost, 94-51, to drop to 2-10 overall and 2-3 in the conference. Lancaster Bible is 8-5, 4-0.

How it happened: Penn College's only lead came during the first minute, 3-2, on a 3-pointer by Corey Blackwell before the Chargers went on a 25-2 run and opened a 54-15 lead at the half.

Lancaster Bible continued to pull away in the second half, going ahead by 45 points twice, the last time at 94-49 with 1:07 to play. For the game, Penn College was outscored in the paint, 52-26. The Chargers finished with 18 fast-break points to four for the Wildcats.

Inside the box: Gavin Barrett led Penn College with 13 points and six rebounds, while David Brown scored 10 points. Grant Sareyka topped five Lancaster Bible players in double figures with 21 points and Jordan Shewbridge added 19.

Up next: Penn College returns to UEC action at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Wells College.
