On This Day in IWU History: Men's Basketball Wins 1997 National Championship

The Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team claimed the NCAA Division III National Championship on March 22, 1997. IWU defeated Nebraska Wesleyan, 89-86, in Salem, Va. to win the national title in its first-ever trip to the national championship game.
