No. 6 Men's Basketball Tops USMMA; Turell Becomes YU's All-Time Leading Scorer

The nationally ranked No. 6 Yeshiva University men's basketball team earned its 10th conference victory in as many league games played (17-1 overall), on Thursday evening, as YU earned an 82-66 victory over U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Max Stern Athletic Center.

History was made as Ryan Turell surpassed Yeshiva Maccabees Hall of Famer Yossy Gev ('02) for first place on YU's All-Time Scoring List. Turell now has 1,882 career points, the most in school history. The Los Angeles native officially became the school's all-time scoring leader by taking a feed from graduate student Ethan Lasko and burying a 3-point shot to extend the Macs' lead to 48-35, just 3:42 into the second half. That shot increased Turell's career total to 1,872 points. Gev scored 1,871 points during his illustrious collegiate career and was on top of YU's All-Time Scoring List for 20 years.
