Niners' Lead Slips Away Late as USF Steals Win, 72-69

TAMPA, Fla. – The Charlotte Men's Basketball team (14-8, 8-2 AAC) led for over 39 minutes, but when the final buzzer sounded South Florida (16-5, 9-1) had the 72-69 win over the visiting Niners in Tampa, Fla. in a battle for sole possession of first place in the American Athletic Conference Tuesday evening. Charlotte led by as many as 17 points in the first half and with 10 minutes remaining in the game, led 63-50. USF went on an 11-1 run over the final 4:41, taking the lead with 29 seconds remaining to snatch the victory from the Niners.
