Night Hawks Fly Away with Win Over FMU
THOMASVILLE, GA. – It was all smiles from the Thomas University Men's basketball team, as four Night Hawks posted 15 or more points in a 79-56 win over Florida Memorial Saturday afternoon to grab its ninth The Sun Conference victory at TU Gymnasium.
The Hunter Green & White (9-14, 9-8 TSC) swept its second The Sun Conference opponent of the season, picking up just the team's third win at home. TU shot 50% from the field and just over 42% long range.
Junior Guard Jordan Booker led all scorers with 18 points, going 6-for-7 from the field. Junior Guard Trint Bryant tallied 16 points with three boards. Redshirt Sophomore Guard Keon Williams had a breakout performance against the Lions, recording 16 points (shooting 58.3% from the floor) with six assists and five rebounds. Senior Forward Desean Enzor notched another double-double on the season with 15 points and 10 boards.
1st Half (TU 46, FMU 25)
After the Lions took an 8-6 lead at the 16:16 mark, TU went on its biggest tear of the season, outscoring the Orange & Blue 21-0 over a seven-minute span, led by Keon Williams' seven points
The Night Hawks forced eight turnovers in the half
Jordan Booker scored 14 of his 18 points in the half
Thomas' 3-Pt. Defense was in full effect, limiting the Lions to 1-for-8 long range
2nd Half (TU 79, FMU 56)
It took TU the first 4:10 of the half to convert a field goal (Good 3-Ptr. from Jordan Booker), giving the Night Hawks a 50-30 lead
Scoring was fairly balanced in Half 2, as TU edged out the Lions 33-31
Freshman Guard Deonta Jones recorded all of his seven points in the half, shooting 37.5% from the field
