[Men's Basketball] WVU-Tech wallops Rio men
Rio Grande Sports Information RIO GRANDE, Ohio – West Virginia University-Tech's last trip to the Newt Oliver Arena resulted in a thrilling, buzzer-beating slam dunk by the University of Rio Grande's Shiloah Blevins which lifted the host RedStorm to a one-point victory. Tuesday night's return to the Buckeye State by the Golden Bears didn't produce the same kind of last-second drama. Tech jumped to a double-digit lead less than five minutes into the contest and continued to pull away en route to a 76-43 blitzing of their hosts in pre-holiday River States Conference men's basketball action. The Golden Bears improved to 6-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play with the victory. Rio Grande, which had a modest two-game winning streak snapped, dropped to 3-4 overall and 2-1 inside the RSC.
