[Men's Basketball] Strong Showings from Smith, Cosby Not Enough to Lift Avila over Ottawa

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eric Smith Jr. stuffed the stat sheet with yet another dominant all-around outing and Jonathan Cosby recorded a career game off the bench, helping to spark a second-half Eagle surge, but Ottawa (15-8, 11-6 KCAC) was able to cling on to its large early lead and prevent Avila (8-15, 7-10) from completing the comeback, holding out for a 78-68 road victory on Monday night in Mabee Fieldhouse.
