[Men's Basketball] Rio men build big lead, then hang on late

Rio Grande Sports Information    PITTSBURGH, Pa. – With just under 12 minutes to go in Saturday afternoon's River States Conference matchup with Point Park University, a nail-biting finish was the furthest thing on the collective minds of the University of Rio Grande men's basketball team.    After all, with a 19-point lead in tow, head coach Ryan Arrowood's squad had no reason to believe that they'd have to hang on for dear life in the closing minutes to finish off a season sweep of the Pioneers.    But that's exactly how things played out in the end.    Rio Grande watched its seemingly comfortable second half advantage sliced to just two points on three occasions in the final 1:46, but held on for a 73-69 victory at CCAC-Allegheny Gymnasium.    The RedStorm improved to 14-13 overall and 8-7 in conference play with a second consecutive win.    Point Park fell to 9-14 overall and 4-11 in the RSC as a result of the loss.
