KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Avila battled back and brought a double-digit deficit to as close as two points with two minutes to play, but the Vikings (1-0) held the edge on the perimeter and on the glass and ultimately held on to their lead to defeat the Eagles (0-1) 81-77 in an entertaining game on Tuesday night in Mabee Fieldhouse, spoiling the Eagles' 2021 season opener.
