[Men's Basketball] Men's Basketball Drops Road Game at Dordt

Doane Men's Basketball faced off with Dordt on Saturday in Sioux Center, Iowa, battling for conference tournament seeding. The Defenders rallied in the second half to pick up a 79-69 win over Doane. The 8-team field is set for the GPAC Tournament, however, with two games to go there will still be movement to decide the seeds.Anthony Laravie (SR/Omaha, Neb.) had a big first half for the Tigers with 15 of the team's 40 points as Doane led 40-38 at the break. He opened the game with a 3-point basket and closed the half with one as well to give the Tigers the lead. There were eight lead changes and five ties in the opening 20 minutes of play.Doane started quick in the second half as well, converting two baskets for a six point lead. Dordt responded with an 8-0 run to take the lead only to have Alec Oberhauser (SR/Parkersburg, Iowa) tie the game on a jumper in the paint to snap the run. Dordt would stay hot, going on a 9-0 run to take the lead for good.Laravie posted 27 points to lead the Tigers on 10-of-22 shooting from the floor. Oberhauser added 14 points and 10 rebounds to record his sixth double-double of the season and third straight. Brady Timm (FR/Yutan, Neb.) finished with 10 points. Josiah Gardiner (SO/Milford, Neb.) finished with a team-high four assists and added nine rebounds.Doane will travel to Yankton, S.D., for their final road game of the regular season as they take on Mount Marty on February 16, at 7:45 PM.
