[Men's Basketball] JARVIS UPSETS #1 RANKED LSU-A

The Jarvis Christian College Men's Basketball team opened up conference play on Friday night, with perhaps one of the biggest wins in school history.  The exciting finish secured the win for the Bulldogs with a score of 76-75 against #1 ranked LSU-A as students and spectators rushed the court.  The Bulldogs continued to battle all night in a game where they trailed by a 1 point half time score and a 10 point deficit with 6:52 remaining in the game.  Chasten King led all Bulldogs with 21 points, while Eric Stewart chipped in 16 points on the night.  Ultimately, the defensive effort on the night from Dalyn Mumphrey, Jaewon Williams, Churon Thomas Jr., and Tyler Bell proved to be the winning factor. "Our guys showed up to practice all week feeling as if they were overlooked.  Our team is not respected in this conference, their point was to prove just that – come out and compete at a very high level against a very talented team.  I could not be more proud of our overall team effort and willingness to never give up in this game, defense won this game" said coach Avery. The Bulldogs will look for another conference win on Saturday night as they play host to LSU-S at the Rand Center.  Tip-Off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
