[Men's Basketball] Bearcats sweep back to back against Welch College

The Brescia Basketball played Welch College over the weekend and came up with two victories.  Friday Night in game one the Bearcats lead by Hayden Shelton's hot shooting performance scoring 32 points defeated Welch 101-78. The Bearcats had five players in double digits with O'Bray Rufus and Jeremy Stewart adding 15 points and Ricky Shuford and Andres Peralt-Werns dropping in 10.  The Bearcats shot 58.9% from the field in the victory.  In game two Brescia hosted Welch and defeated the Flames 83-69 in the Moore Center.  The Flames shot 32.4% from the field while the Bearcats shot 52.5%.  Senior Ricky Shuford had a big day dropping 30 points and grabbing 17 rebounds in the win.  Stewart added 11 points and 9 boards while Rufus and Shelton added 10 points apiece in the win.  "In our win in game one we had 20 assists and really did a nice job protecting the ball and making the extra pass for open looks.  We also did a good job of hitting the glass and answered Welch's runs offensively by getting our transition game going.  In game two Welch really played hard and forced us into 25 turnovers we did enough offensively to score and shoot a great percentage but turnovers have been a problem for us and we need to do a better job of protecting the ball." added Head Coach Brian Skortz.  "Shelton really has shot the ball extremely well over the last three games and I am seeing improvement but we must still play with better consistency on both ends of the floor."   The Bearcats will play at Alice Lloyd College on Tuesday.
