[Men's Basketball] Barons spilt with Falcons

Temple Terrace, FL — In Friday's game our Barons defeated Florida College  77-76. This was a close game for its entirety. Our Barons shot the ball superbly from the three point line. Jack Gray (JR/Powder Springs, GA) had a career high 29 points and hit the game winning shot with .5 seconds remaining. Benjamin Ross (JR/Atlanta, GA) followed suit with 20 points and 8 rebounds. This was a rollercoaster affair with extreme emotional shifts throughout. In Saturday's game our Barons lost 59-48. Contrary to Friday night, the Barons struggled to find a rhythm shooting the ball.  Benjamin Ross was the only Baron to find his way into double digits with 16 points and 7 rebounds. After the series, Coach Birchfield said "This was a good weekend for our basketball program. We were led by Jack Gray and Benjamin Ross in our win, with Jack Gray hitting one of the biggest shots I have seen in years.  Being able to go on the road and split with a team that has 12 wins already on the season is huge.  We have made it roughly half way through our conference schedule and we have established that we won't be an easy win for anybody in this conference anymore.  We are ready to win games in the SSAC. I'm proud of this team in the steps it has taken to become competitive."February 2,2021 is the next game for our Barons at home against Middle Georgia Knights. The tip off will start at 7:00 p.m. written by: Trakeirra Head
