[Men's Basketball] Barons Beat Conference Rivals Middle Georgia

Mount Vernon, GA  — Our Barons defeated the Middle Georgia Knights 78-73 in last night's game. Benjamin Ross (JR/Atlanta, GA) was the leading scorer for our Barons. He finished with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Corey Thomas (JR/Camden, NJ) followed with 16 points and 8 rebounds. John Allen (SO/Marietta, GA) chipped in 13 points and 11 assists. They out rebounded the Knights 36-28. This was a great conference win for our Barons.After the game, Coach Birchfield was quoted as saying "Tonight we worked a group towards a common goal.  It was the first night in a long time that we did well on both sides of the ball, and certainly a bonus to win for our senior, Ben Ross, on senior night.  Hopefully this is a sign that we're coming together at the right time for the tournament."Our Barons will travel to Faulkner University to play Friday at 7:00 p.m. & Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Let's tune in and support our Barons.written by: Trakeirra Head
