McAliley Earns Back-to-Back PSAC East Athlete of The Week Honors

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – After leading the No. 15/5 East Stroudsburg University men's basketball team in most statistical categories in an undefeated week, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced on Monday that redshirt junior forward Lakeem McAliley was named the PSAC East Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week.

McAliley has been on a tear during the Warriors (19-2, 13-2 PSAC) six-game winning streak, becoming the first player in program history since at least 2002-03 to score at least 20 points in six consecutive games. He was the first Warrior to accomplish the feat in five games in the same time period, with only Whis Grant (2013-14) recording a four-game 20-point streak since head coach Jeff Wilson began his tenure in 2002-03.

On the week, the native of Philadelphia averaged 25.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 4.0 steals and 1.3 blocks in wins over Kutztown, Mansfield and Shepherd. An efficient scorer, McAliley shot 60.9 percent from the field (28-46 FG), 41.7 percent from 3-point land (5-12 3PT) and made 15-22 attempts from the charity stripe. The two-time All-PSAC East selection accomplished the statistics in an average of just 27.2 minutes per game.
