HPU Falls to Point Loma In Overtime

Honolulu, Hawai'i – In a thrilling battle of PacWest powerhouses at the Shark Tank, the Hawai'i Pacific University (HPU) men's basketball team suffered a heart-wrenching 75-78 overtime loss to the Point Loma Sea Lions. The matchup, pitting two of the top-three teams in the conference against each other, lived up to its billing, delivering a spectacle of high-intensity hoops.

The first half was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams exchanging blows in a quest for supremacy. Point Loma managed to secure a slim advantage heading into the break, and it was the scoring prowess of HPU's Melo Sanchez, who contributed 10 points in the opening half, that kept the Sharks in the thick of the contest.
