Howard Payne Men Spoil Eagles ASC Opener

Brownwood, Texas-The Eagles held a 39-31 halftime lead only to have Howard Payne University score 46 second half points to gain a 77-64 win Thursday night in Brownwood, Texas. The Eagles shooting percentage went from 50% in the first half to 32% in the second half. Howard Payne went to the free throw line 29 times and hit 22 of their attempts. The Eagles went to the free throw line 15 times. Howard Payne held a 66-55 lead with less than four minutes to play. But the Eagles battled back and climbed within five points at the 2:07 mark and then made it 68-64 at the 1:32 mark. That would be the closest the Eagles got. Grayson Nix and Kamren Roelke scored 20 points apiece.
