GERALD HOLMES SELECTED AS ONE OF THE TOP 50 COLLEGE BASKETBALL COACHES EVER

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Head men's basketball coach at Bloomfield College, Gerald Holmes, was ranked one of the top 50 college basketball coaches ever in the state of New Jersey in an article published on February 9th. The news article written by Jerry Carino of the Asbury Park Press ranked Holmes 37th with the criteria of results being that selected coaches were at four-year colleges in the Garden State and the minimum required tenure of five full seasons. Other notables on the list include #31 Pat Hannish, a women's hoops pioneer, who posted a 214-79 record at Kean from 1974-1986, including four conference titles and two Division III NCAA Regional crowns, #13 Jose Rebimbas who from 1995-2015 led William Paterson to a record of 384-168, six New Jersey Athletic Conference titles and nine Division III NCAA Tournaments, including a Final Four in 1999 and the national title game in 2001 and #1 on the list, NJ icon, Pete Carril, who in 29 seasons at Princeton went 514-261 (.663), won 13 Ivy League championships, earned 11 NCAA Tournament berths and captured the 1975 NIT title.
