Fayetteville State shoots 52.6 percent from deep, defeats Johnson C. Smith 88-57

FAYETTEVILLE, NC –The Fayetteville State men's basketball team shot 52.6 percent from beyond the arc on the way to an 88-57 win over the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls at home Thursday.

The Broncos (14-10, 9-5) had four players score in double figures, led by Tairell Fletcher, who had 25 points and six assists. Caleb Simmons added 18 points, seven rebounds and two steals and Kaleb Coleman helped out with 13 points and nine rebounds.

The Golden Bulls (11-10, 6-8) were led by Avery Huggins who scored 10 points and had 3 rebounds.

The Fayetteville State offense was very productive from beyond the arc, pouring in 10 threes on 19 attempts. Coleman was the most prolific shooter for the Broncos, draining three treys in the contest.

Fayetteville State's defense held Johnson C. Smith to only 36.8 percent shooting from the field, including 15.4 percent from beyond the arc.
