ESU Men’s Basketball Ascends in Both Major Polls

EAST STROUDSBURG – Following victories over Bloomsburg and Millersville, the East Stroudsburg University men's basketball team to improve its record to 16-2 and 10-2 in league play, the National Association of Basketball Coaches and Division II College Sports Communicators announced on Tuesday that the Warriors elevated in both polls.

ESU jumps to No. 15 in the NABC Coaches Poll (prev. No. 19) and now ranks No. 5 in the D2CSC Media Poll (prev. No. 9). The Warriors now hold sole possession of No. 1 in the D2CSC Atlantic Region Poll, after being tied for the top spot with Gannon next week. Monday's 103-74 win over Kutztown was not factored in all three polls.

The Warriors enter Wednesday's road contest at Mansfield with a four-game winning streak overall and have won a program-record 11 consecutive road games dating back to the 2022-23 season.

Among 298 teams in NCAA Division II, ESU ranks third in field goals made per game (20.1) and winning percentage (89.5%), fifth in fastbreak points (18.89), fifth in free throw attempts per game (27.2) and turnovers forced (20.68), sixth in steals per game (11.2), seventh in scoring margin (16.2) and 10th in scoring offense (90.5).

No. 15/5 ESU heads to Mansfield on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
