Dragons pull away late in second half

FREDONIA, N.Y. — The Fredonia State men's basketball team fell 66-59 to Oneonta in Dods Hall on Tuesday. The Devils led 43-41 five minutes into the second half when an 11-point run put Oneonta up for good. The Devils would close the gap to four points, but could not get over the hump.

Malik Jemison and Elian Dominguez led the Devils with 14 points apiece. Oneonta was led by Pete Laidley with 16 points off the bench. Caleb Brown added 11 points.

The first half saw eight lead changes before Oneonta settled on a 35-28 lead at the half. Seven straight points to open the second half by Fredonia State tied the game at 35-all. The game would go back and forth several times, before the Dragons made their 11-0 run.

Oneonta improves to 11-12 overall and 8-7 in the conference.

The Devils (6-16 / 3-11 SUNYAC) are back home this weekend, playing host to Potsdam and Plattsburgh in Dods Hall as part of women's/men's doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday.
