Khadim Sy didn't even begin playing basketball until late in 2013 and was signed by legendary Oak Hill Academy coach Steve Smith when he was in the ninth grade. Leaving his home in Senegal to join one of the most prestigious high school basketball programs sounds like a dream come true, but Sy struggled for several months, most notably with communication.
