Cotter Named Head Men's Basketball Coach

THOMASVILLE, Ga.- Thomas University officials promoted Colin Cotter to Head Coach Friday. The native of Lawrenceville, Ga fills the position after spending the previous five months as the Interim Men's Basketball Head Coach at Thomas.

Cotter comes to the Night Hawks after spending two seasons as the Associate Head Coach/ Recruiting Coordinator at Reinhardt University. Colin helped lead the Eagles to a combined 39-19 record. The Eagles finished in the top two in Appalachian Athletic Conference for the 2020-2021 and the 2021-22 seasons.

Previous to Reinhardt, Cotter was the head assistant men's basketball coach at Andrew (Ga.). Cotter led the Tigers to a 21-10 season – with a conference semifinal appearance – falling just short to eventual conference champion Central Georgia Technical College. In his brief time at Andrew, Cotter helped eight Sophomores pursue their basketball careers at a variety of four-year universities, including NCAA Division I.

Cotter played two years at South Georgia State College (SGSC) in Waycross, Ga., guiding SGSC to a conference championship in 2014-15, before transferring to Valdosta State for one season. Cotter finished his college career playing one year at NCAA DII North Georgia.

Under Colin's guidance, The Thomas University Men's Basketball team has reached the best start the program has had in the last eight years. Cotter has helped the Green and White to an 9-2 overall record and a perfect 4-0 conference record thus far. Additionally,  Coach Cotter continues to make strides in the right direction, last Saturday after defeating (RV) St.Thomas University for the first time in four years.
