Bradford spoils Devils day

BRADFORD, PA. — The Fredonia State men's basketball team fell 80-73 at Pitt-Bradford on Tuesday. The Devils (2-3) were led by Keenan Roberts Jr. with 22 points and Malik Jemison with 13. AJ Judd added 11. 

The Devils did not find their rhythm in the first half, when Bradford established a 34-22 lead. Sluggish shooting — 9-33 (27 percent) — led to the low offensive output.

Tied at 12 apiece, Bradford got rolling on an 11-0 run. Late in the half, the Panthers would earn their biggest lead of the game at 15 points, 34-19.

The Devils picked up the pace in the second half shooting 17-32 (53 percent), outscoring the hosts 51-46. 

The Devils would pull withing five points on three different occasions, the last coming at 78-73 with eight seconds on the clock. They would not find themselves in the lead the entire second half.

For the game, both teams shot and identical 26-65 from the floor and connected on four three-point shots. Bradford's point differential came at the free-throw line, as the Panthers went 24-32 (75 percent) while the Devils had a few less trips, shooting 17-23 (74 percent). Bradford had a 49-36 edge in rebounds. 

Bradford (3-2) was led by Gus Napoleon with 19 points — one of five players in double digits. Jamarion Butler had a game-high 10 rebounds.

In the Devils' three losses this season, they fell short by a combined 15 points

The Devils will enjoy the Thanksgiving Break before traveling to Chatham on Monday.
