GAMBIER, Ohio – In late October of 2020, the Kenyon Board of Trustees announced that the formerly-known Kenyon Athletic Center would be renamed to the Lowry Center in recognition of 1956 graduate Bill Lowry. He was just the fifth Black person to graduate from Kenyon, was the first Black man nationally initiated into Beta Theta Pi, and he captained the football, basketball and baseball teams during his time in Gambier.
