THE OPENING TIP

• After coming off of a 2-0 home stand against Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee, The Aggies fell on the road versus Sam Houston in Hooten's first journey back to Huntsville since becoming the head man for NM State. With the loss, Hooten's group goes to 9-11 on the season and 3-2 in CUSA play.  

• NM State will collide with LA Tech for its sixth game of conference play this season, with the Bulldogs currently coming off a home win versus UTEP 68-54 on Thursday in their fifth game of conference play. 

• Saturday will mark the 20th time that the Aggies and Bulldogs meet on the hardwood, with NM State coming out on top 78-60 in the last meeting Mar 7, 2013.
