THE OPENING TIP

• On Thursday night, the Aggies opened their two-game homestand against Liberty and managed to out muscle the Flames and grab an overtime victory (79-73). With the win, Hooten's group goes to 10-12 on the season and 4-3 in CUSA play.

• NM State will collide with Jax State for its eighth game of conference play this season, with the Gamecocks are currently coming off a road loss versus UTEP 79-71 on Thursday in their seventh game of conference play. 

• Saturday will mark the first time that the Aggies and Gamecocks meet on the hardwood.
