12th-Ranked Captains Outlast Hampden-Sydney, 79-74, Handing Tigers First Loss of Season

Christopher Newport University built a 19-point second half lead Tuesday night, and then had to hand on to beat the Tigers of Hampden-Sydney, 79-74. John Krikorian's squad, ranked 12th in the nation this week, improved to 8-2 on the season, while Hampden-Sydney fell for the first time and is now 6-1.
