[Men's Basketball] Men's Basketball Edged in Overtime

Doane Men's Basketball pushed Jamestown to the limit on Sunday afternoon in North Dakota, falling to the Jimmies 109-105 in overtime. Jamestown is receiving votes in the NAIA poll.For the Tigers, they eclipsed the 100-point mark for the first time this season behind 53-percent shooting. The Jimmies went over the 100-point mark for the second time this season and shot 59-percent from the floor. Both teams were nearly perfect from the free throw line, combining to make the first 25 attempts of the game before a miss in overtime. Doane finished 16-of-17 at the charity stripe while Jamestown was 15-of-16.Anthony Laravie (SR/Omaha, Neb.) led five Doane players in double figures with 29 points on 13-of-21 shooting. Zach Witters (SR/Lenexa, Kan.) posted a career-high 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Alec Oberhauser (JR/Parkersburg, Iowa) finished with 16 points, Joe Burt (JR/Lincoln, Neb.) added 14 points, and Jaxon Harre (SR/Omaha, Neb.) pitched in with 11 points. Laravie and Max Masin (JR/Ponca, Neb.) led the team with five rebounds apiece. Burt led the team with four assists and two steals.Mason Walters led Jamestown with 32 points and 10 rebounds. Jack Tally finished with 31 points for the Jimmies. Allante Pickens added 18 points with Cole Woolford chipping in with 16 points.Doane will return to action on Saturday, February 6, with a trip to Sioux City, Iowa, to take on Morningside at 4 PM.
